A Critical Scene

I have been struggling with my story, feeling 'blocked'... not that I believe in writers block. I was trying to just push through and write past my block, but it was harder than usual. It took me a couple of weeks to realise that although I'm at the very start of the story, I am about to write a very critical scene that sets up the whole book.

Today, I acknowledged the importance of the scene, and voila (!) the words came. Not the perfect words... only a first draft for sure... but words that have value as a starting point to build better words then, hopefully, fantastic words that drive the reader through the book...
